Today we say a sad goodbye to our Tiger friend Miss Abi. I think the Tigers said it best and simply at their sharing cicle this morning when they said, “Goodbye Miss Abi, we’ll miss you!”, and then tackled her with a mountain of hugs. Though Abi is heading back to Hungary to help her family, the Preschool looks forward to welcoming her back in August for the next school year. I know I speak for everyone when I say her love, patience, support and never ending good humor have been a huge part of our fantastic year. Thanks Abi for all that you do, and the Tiger’s will miss you terribly. Safe travels and all the best for the coming year.

This past week and a half the Tigers have been busy celebrating classmates birthdays, enjoying cooling off in the pool at swimmming, writing letters to ECLC, buddy reading with the middle school in the library, talking about our worries after ready a book about worry dolls, having dance parties to our favorite songs, working on our museums, eating picnic lunch together, visiting ECLC, enjoying our small Tigers staying for lunch and saying a sad good bye to our friend Miss Rachel. We thank her for all her help over the year and wish her all the best in her new adventure at University in California. Also a big thank you to Anne Witkiewicz for the beautiful underwater swimming shots. As we get closer to the end of the year most importantly we are enjoying spending time together.

This week the Tigers have been exploring puppets and putting on puppet shows. They started by making their own puppets and then realised they needed a puppet theater. Quickly the team turned the circle into a theater complete with numbered chairs for the audience, a candy seller to keep the hungry audience happy and someone to introduce the acts. At their puppet theater there were many exciting shows and never a shortage of imaginative ideas for more! On adventure Friday Miss Sarah invited us to explore playing with and becoming human puppets with our Grade Five Buddies. They showed us how to attach imaginary strings using sticky dots and then let us become puppeteers, moving them in different ways. Soon enough some Tigers wanted to try being puppets themselves. After lots of fun the class decided to put on a puppet show using the new skills our friends had taught us. Brave Tigers got up on stage and put on an amazing show. Thanks to Miss Sarah and the Grade Five Buddies for such a great experience.

For the past few weeks the Tigers have been exploring gymnastics with Coach Pekin and Coach Ramon. We have had a lot of fun learning to move in different ways and challenging ourself on the equipment. We were excited to see how our confidence and skills have developed from our last session. Tigers took advantage of their time in the gym to bounce on the trampolines, walk across the balance beam, walk on barrels, swing and flip on the bars, climb the horse and rock wall, and tumble on the mats. They also loved using the smaller equipment for exciting adventure play. We are sad to say goodbye to the gym but are very excited that next week we will start swimming. See you at the pool!
